Quick Take: While we did not review the Samsung HL-S5688W, we did review the entry-level version, model HL-S5687W. The two are nearly identical, although there are a few differences. The HL-S5088W has some additional features, including a CableCard slot, a TV Guide EPG, two FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports, picture-in-picture, and a slightly improved sound system. Its styling is also a bit different, with a black horizontal strip across the face, as opposed to silver. The two models should offer identical picture quality.
